Rarely do I see such a seamless transition from the online to the in-store retail experience.Mission Bicycle is a custom fix-gear bicycle shop located on Valencia Street in San Francisco.

"I had already heard about Mission Bicycle’s innovative model of selling fixed gear bikes online and was intrigued to hear about the company’s next step: opening up a retail shop that would challenge pretty much every convention in bicycle retail. What Mission Bicycle wanted to do was exactly in line with a few ideas that I had with some friends while in grad school"- Henning Fischer of Adaptive Path.

"Mission Bicycle's Zack Rosen, CEO partnered with Grayscaled to design the interior space and Adaptive Path to develop product selection and purchase experience and signage system. The store opened in May 2009 resulting in a 50%+ net increase in bicycle sales for the company"-Henning Fischer.

I highly recommend taking a look at the three company's that partnered to make Mission Bike brand experience. Adaptive Path designs consumer experiences for a variety of products and services, not to mention their experience designers produce great design literature and essay's most of which are free through their blog. Chapter Three is a full-service open-source consultancy and experts at designing great websites and deploying them.

Peter B Lewis gets a razzin'

Quoted from James Howard Kunstler's 'Eyesore of the Month'

The Peter B. Lewis Building for Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management. Architect: Frank Gehry. If your dog had a tumor like this the vets would just shake their heads and put him to sleep. The design follows the logic of cancer: invade and overwhelm the host organism. It's appropriate that this building houses the business school, because it aptly expresses the disfigurement of American economic practice in our time: banality meets pathology in a tragic duet.

Yea baby !!

band-aid

Not only is this very cool packaging/design/(amazing)idea, check out the sweet blogspot site it is on. In case you only look, read this bit from the explanation:

"By redesigning the traditional bad-aid into a roll-type like tapes, we can not only reduce the paper waste but also reduce the volume of the traditional package by two thirds, saving transportation cost."

It's translated, so take it easy.
